Sugaring, the ancient Egyptian method of hair removal using
natural products, is a popular alternative to waxing and shaving.

DID YOU KNOW?
Sugaring is less painful than waxing.
The sugar paste is applied warm - not hot like a lot of waxes.

Sugaring is more effective than shaving.
Think of your hair as a lawn - shaving, like mowing, simply cuts the growth back and encourages the hair to grow, stronger.

Sugaring removes the hair from the roots.
Any hair re-growth is finer and easier to remove the next time round.
An added benefit is no stubble - so no more itchy, irritated, skin!

WHAT PART OF THE BODY CAN BE SUGARED?
Most parts of the body can be sugared.
Shoulders and backs are the most popular areas, followed by chest, arms and legs.

IS HAIR PERMANENTLY REMOVED?
Over a period of time, possibly.
Sugaring (like waxing) removes the hair by the root. If the area is sugared regularly the hair does not have time to re-establish strong growth; is finer and lighter; and is easier to remove.

WHO CAN BE SUGARED?
Anyone!
People of all ages and from every walk of life have been sugared.
Even people with sensitive skin.

As well as removing hair, sugaring strips away dry and dead skin cells, leaving the skin soft and smooth - which
can help improve dry skin conditions.

If you dislike body hair, then sugaring is for you.

If you are a sports person, sugaring is ideal:

  • Athletes/Runners: Less sweaty back and shoulders.
  • Body Builders/Boxers/Wrestlers: Sugaring helps to enhance body definition.
  • Cyclists/Runners: Less chance of infection to cuts and grazes, as wounds are easier to clean and protect.
  • Cyclists/Swimmers: Reduced body hair improves aerodynamics, thereby helping to improve speed.
DOES SUGARING HURT?
This is a frequently asked question, and the answer is No, not if the sugar paste is removed correctly.
Obviously people have different pain thresholds and certain body parts are more sensitive than others.
Sugaring is far less painful than removing a plaster from a hairy arm.
The sugar paste sticks to the hair not the skin, which results in the hair being removed without bruising the skin.

HOW OFTEN DO I NEED TO BE SUGARED?
Hair grows at different speeds on each person, on each part of the body, depending on the time of year.

Use the following as a guide:

  • Back/Chest/Shoulders 6 to 8 weeks
  • Legs 4 to 6 weeks
  • Arms 8 to 10 weeks
